Barcelona defender Gerard Pique early this week trolled Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo as he felt Real Madrid’s Champions League win last season was due to playing some “easy” teams in the run up to the final. When Pique, Shakira’s husband was asked in a Twitter Q and A session; “what kind of draw do you want in this year’s Champions League? Pique’s response was:
“An easy group stage, Italy’s 3rd in the round of 16 (Roma), Germany’s 8th in the quarters (Wolfsburg), England’s 4th in semis (Manchester City) and the return leg always at home.”

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel will donate part of his share of the $390,000 awarded to the bronze winning Nigeria U-23 team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
This comes after a Japanese surgeon rewarded the team for their bravery in Rio after they beat Honduras 3-2 for the bronze medal.
According to Africafootball.com,the Nigeria Football Federation and the Sports Ministry made their observations known by insisting that the money must be from a credible sources, but according to feelers from the camp of the Olympics Eagles, the NFF were only seeking for means of getting their hands on the money.
However, Takasu issued two Citibank cheques $200,000 in the name of coach Samson Siasia and $190,000 in the name of Mikel.
One of the team’s officials disclosed to Africafootball.com that the team vowed not to hand over the money to the NFF.
“Mikel has insisted all of us will get our share of the money. That we should not mind what the people in the NFF are saying. “He will make available this cash when he comes for next month’s AFCON qualifier against Tanzania in Uyo.”A team meeting has already resolved that both players and officials will receive equal amount of the cash with Mikel himself agreeing to give part of his own share for the chief coach (Siasia) to get more than the rest of the squad. South Sudan: Opposition Fighters Attack Soldiers
Northern Bahr El Ghazal / Abu Jabra — Fighting between members of the South Sudanese army and opponents of the government resulted in a number of dead and wounded on the Sudan-South Sudan border between East Darfur and Northern Bahr El Ghazal.
The clash comes less than a week after the leader of the South Sudanese opposition forces, Riek Machar, was sworn-in as First Vice-President in Juba.
Combatants of his Sudan People's Liberation Movement-In Opposition (SPLM-IO) attacked South Sudanese soldiers in the area of Malwal last week. The opposition fighters moved from the vicinity of a camp south of Abu Jabra in East Darfur, to Malwal, where they launched the attack, a witness told Radio Dabanga yesterday.
"The soldiers killed and wounded a number of them, and seized two of their vehicles. The combatants fled to East Darfur and transported their wounded to Abu Jabra for treatment."
The Commissioner of Abu Jabra, El Dhaif Eisa Aliyu, confirmed the occurrence of the clash to Radio Dabanga.
"The attack of the opposition force was initiated by one of the Sheikhs in Bahr el Ghazal, named Abdel Bagi, and a man named Tibin Mahel, who is said to be a former army captain."

Aliyu added that three fighters are being treated at the town's hospital, and an investigation into the incident and the identities of the attackers is ongoing.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, another witness claimed that Mahel and his fighters arrived south of Abu Jabra two months ago, and that he has started training combatants in the area.

200,000 Nigerians to Benefit From DSO Pilot Scheme - Minister
No fewer than 200,000 average Nigerians will have access to at least 15 free-to-air television channels from April 30 launch of the pilot scheme of Digital Switch On (DSO) in Jos.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed disclosed this on Friday in Jos when he paid a visit to Plateau Deputy Governor, Prof. Sonni Tyoden.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the minister was accompanied on the visit by members of the Ministerial Task Force for attainment of the pilot scheme and the June 2017 deadline for switch over from analogue to digital broadcasting.
Mohammed, who assured that his team was prepared for the pilot scheme, said that from the take off date in Jos, those who could not afford digital cable like DSTV and Startimes would have access to at least 15 free channels.
The 15 free channels according to the minister, included, African Movie Net, CNBC Africa, NTA, Channels Television and AIT.
He said that the government was also prepared to give free set up boxes to the beneficiaries of the pilot scheme.
"'By April 30, the 200,000 targeted viewers in Jos alone will be able to get their set up boxes which will be fixed to their television sets.
"When they switch on the television from that date they will be able to view, free of charge, 15 channels as opposed to the four that they see today.
"I am not talking about those who have and can afford cables, but about the average Jos man who relies on the terrestrial television," he said.
The minister solicited the support of the state government towards equitable distribution of the free boxes stressing that it should not be based on partisanship.
According to him, the programme is for every Nigerians and not members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), alone.
The minister said that the switch on would provide job opportunities for talented young men, particularly those who would be providing content applications.
He said it would also make it easier and more comfortable for artists to relate their compositions straight to digital platform.
Mohammed reiterated that the issue of going digital was not a matter of choice because the ITU, a UN specialised body for ICT, had given deadline of June 2017 for the country.
He said failure to meet with the deadline would mean a violation of international treaty while the nation's broadcast system would also be at the mercy of interference.
The deputy governor thanked the federal government for choosing the state for the pilot scheme and. assured their co-operations.
He said the digital switch on was a monumental development in the broadcast industry that would reduce class gap and ensure equal access to information.
Tyoden said the state would set up a task force, to be headed by the Commissioner for Information, on the equitable distribution of the boxes and other developments.
