Toya Graham, who became popular after videos of her beating her son home from Baltimore riots went viral, has opened up on what happened.
Graham had spotted her 16-year old son throwing items at the police, and had proceeded to beat him back home.
She said to CBS news: “I’m a no-tolerant mother. Everybody that knows me, know I don’t play that. He said, when ‘I seen you,’ he said, ‘ma, my instinct was to run.'”
Graham, who is a single mother of 6, told of her feeling when she first saw him rioting.
“At that point, I just lost it,” she said. “I was shocked, I was angry, because you never want to see your child out there doing that.”
She ended by hoping her son learnt from the whole incident.
“And by him seeing everything what’s going on I just hope, I’m not sure, but I hope that he understands the seriousness of what was going on last night,” she said.
